I think I have a defective FP guage. Ever since I got it, the highest reading I will see is 58PSI while at 6 PSI of boost. The Jackson Racing FPR is a 5:1, so at 6 PSI I'm pretty sure it should be higher. My question is; On a SOHC (d16z6) what is the standard static FP? My idle FP is about 38-40PSI.
I'm am just trying to be sure about the FP before I call the guage defective.
Note: The FP guage is a Nordskog digital guage. http://www.nordskogperformance.net/m8034.html
Also, while under boost I never lean out..... Autometer air/fuel always shows well into the green (never have heard any pinging either). So I figure I can't be at the FP my guage is telling me....I would most certainly lean out with 6PSI and only 58PSI of fuel pressure.
Thanks for any help.

What is your static fuel pressure?Do you have an underhood gauge?
If your idle pressure is 38-40psi, then you should be around 48-50psi static which is way too low for one thing. I "think" that all our cars are very similar as far as fuel pressures go.
So, going with this theory your static pressure should be 55-60psi and your idle pressure should be around 45-48psi or so.
What is your A/F gauge reading if you have one? The sender has been known to fail on those Nordskog gauges.
Check for a vacuum leak and check to see if the JR FMU is sealed properly.

I used to have a JRSC on my D16y8
My fp at idle was around 40 with vacuum, and around 80-100psi at WOT.
Hope that helps.

My SC'd D16Y8 is at 38 Idle, around 45 static. Map controller installed too. Also, I got it that low since I'm at a higher altitude, and drilled a small hole in the stock FPR to relieve some pressures as per Endyn's instructions.

Nordskog gauges suck. I wish I'd never gotten one.
My first digital FP gauge and sender worked OK for a year and then the sender crapped out. Now, the original gauge is hooked up to a new sender and the only place it is accurate is in the 25-35psi range. At WOT, it only goes up to 48-50psi, yet when it last worked properly, FP went up to 67psi.
I haven't bothered replacing it because I mostly rely on a Safeguard to let me know if I get too lean. All it tells me now is that my static and idle FP settings are still correct. I ignore it under boost.
I should've bought an autometer...

Thanks for the replies.
I think your right Holden about the Nordskog guages. I've heard from a few people now that they are not the most reliable things in the world.
I think it may be time to swap this thing out for a higher quality, more reputable peice.
Thanks again!

CROM, thanks for the reply!
I have to check to see exactly what my static FP is. I do have an underhood guage, but I'm not sure how/why I would reference it for this problem.
Is 45-48PSI really what Honda's/Acura's usually run for an idle FP??? Just for reference my underhood guage reads about 40-41 PSI at idle while the in car guage tends to read 1-3 PSI lower. My point in saying this is that I think that my car's 40ish PSI at idle is correct if both guages read within 3 PSI of each other. Could the D16Z6 simply have a lower idle FP? Maybe someone with a SOHC can comment on this.
As I stated before my air/fuel guage read two or three greens while in boost of any PSI.
I forgot to mention before, but I do have the Jackson MAP controller mod. After installing it I lowered the pressure on the JR FPR as per their instructions.
I don't think I have any vacuum leaks. Everything seems to work perfectly and my boost guage read about 22 in/hg <----I think thats the measurement of vacuum.
One thing I'm unsure of is how to check to see if the JR FMU is sealed properly like you stated. Can you tell me exacly what you mean.
Thanks for any help.
Carl
Again, for anyone else reading this. My problem is that my Nordskog digital FP guage only reads 58PSI under full boost which is 6PSI. I feel this is way low and want to look into getting a new guage from them, but I want to be sure I'm right about the FP thing first.

I still don't know why or how I did that...
Sorry dude.
My first sender worked well for a year. It must've been in that year I recommended it.
